Aleksy Marcinów

Born and raised in Katowice, Poland and educated at ZSP Katowice – school of fine arts, after that he spent one year in Agata Rawecka’s workshop improving his skills, then moved to Great Britain and graduated from the University for the Creative Arts in Canterbury in 2014.

Aleksy is trying to spread his work on different fields, instead of limiting himself to one. As medium he is using everything he can from canvas and paper to human skin and supercars.

His influences are as diverse as Nobuyoshi Araki and Pierre Soulages, new insights are crafted from both simple and complex narratives.

The title for his dissertation was “Japanese erotic art-from Shunga to Araki”.

In his recent work he’s trying to explore this subject in his paintings as well as on human skin.
